9th Annual Sugar Run

The 9th annual Sugar Run was held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at WC Johnson Park in Collierville. Dr. Julie Kate Webster of MSFAS is the co-chair of the Sugar Run along with Dr. Kashif Latif of AM Diabetes and Endocrinology Center. The race benefits JDRF whose goal is to cure Type 1 diabetes. The date of the race coincided with World Diabetes Day. Over 190 runners participated in the Sugar Run, and after this year’s donation, the Sugar Run will have raised over $100,000 for diabetes research. Dr. Chad E. Webster of Memphis, TN, was elected President of the Tennessee Podiatric Medical Association at their Annual Meeting, which took place September 17-20, in Nashville, TN. Dr. Webster is a founding partner of Mid-South Foot & Ankle Specialists, which has four offices throughout the Mid-South, located in Cordova, Atoka, Midtown and East Memphis. He is a native of Sullivan, Indiana, graduated from the University of Southern Indiana, and received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Nathan Coleman

Dr. Coleman is a native of Northeast Mississippi. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry in 2008.

He went on to pursue his medical training at Des Moines University – College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery where he became a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 2012. While there, he was awarded a university merit scholarship and was a teaching assistant to first year medical students.

After graduating from DMU, he completed a three-year podiatric medicine and surgery residency with reconstructive rearfoot and ankle certification at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa. During his tenure there, he spent additional time as a fellow at Bako Pathology Services in Alpharetta, GA receiving specialized training in podiatric dermatology and dermatopathology.

Dr. Coleman has been active in podiatric education and research lecturing at multiple conferences as well as publishing several research studies and book chapters. When not at work, he enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Stefanie, and daughter, Tessa. He also enjoys exercising, watching sports and working on computers.
